The adventure only begins with purchasing the CO2 laser machine, as you will still need to assemble it. But don’t worry, we’re here to help! For this occasion, we have prepared a guide for installing the laser tube into the machine. And if anything goes wrong, we have online support always ready to assist you.
The installation process may vary slightly depending on the tube manufacturer. Now, we will describe the installation process for Lasea tubes. Down below, you may find the same for the Reci tube.
Unpacking and installation
First things first, open the box containing the laser tube and ensure it arrived safely. There should be no chips inside the packaging, and the tube should have no cracks or any other types of damage.
The CO2 machine should still be turned off. Open the laser tube bay, located at the back of the equipment. Now, unscrew a bolt from each of the tube’s fastenings and move the top to the side. You’ll need a cross-head screwdriver for this.
Next, carefully take the laser tube and place it into the mounting seats, ensuring that its cathode is facing the reflecting mirror.
Now, secure the tube with the fastenings.

Connecting
The next step is to deal with the cathode wire. You need to twist it with the cathode wire from the ignition unit. Secure the final twisting with the duck tape, making a few reelings.
Then goes the anode wire. You will need to take a silicone hose and put it over this cable. And again to twisting! This time, anode wires of the tube and the ignition unit. To wrap this conjunction, you have to use high-voltage electric tape in at least four layers. The last step is to put a silicone hose on top of that and fix the ends of it with the same tape.
Cooling
Now to the chiller. It’s essential to do this part correctly.
Connect the water inlet hose to the anode side of the laser tube. The water outlet hose should go to the cathode side.
The process of installation for Reci tubes is quite the same in general, though there are some important different details:
- The ignition unit cathode wire should be connected to the bolt on the side of the laser beam output. Then, screw this bolt tighter.
- The anode wire of the ignition tube goes to the bolt on the other side of the tube. Here, we have to use high-voltage electric tape as well and wrap it around the tube’s anode at least four times. And don’t forget to put a silicone hose on top and also wrap the end of it.
- The water inlet hose should go to the anode side, and the outlet — to the cathode one. The outlet fitting has to be facing upward and at a slight inclination of 10 to 30 degrees. If the water outlet fitting faces down or sideways, it means that the laser tube is installed incorrectly. If that happens, then unscrew the top part of the laser tube fastening and simply rotate the laser tube.
At the end of both installations, you need to secure all of the connections of the silicone tubes with the plastic tie to prevent water leaks.
Follow the steps carefully since the laser tube is the key part of the CO2 machine. Also, there is equipment with two tubes, and there is no need to worry since you’ll just have to do the whole process twice.
